Job Summary
Under general direction, manage the administrative operations
across multiple grants, cooperative agreements, and business
contracts of diverse scope. The Research Admin is responsible for
keeping faculty, staff and subcontractors in compliance with the
requirements and restrictions of awards and agreements, assisting
third parties including UCOP and Federal Offices/Agencies with
audits of expenditures, and developing and managing budgets and
financial reports in an extremely fast-paced environment with

Bachelor's degree in related area and
/ or equivalent experience / trainingExperience in grant funding
processes, procedures, and techniques. Including the preparation of
grant proposals and managing grants awarded Thorough understanding
of research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal
sponsors supporting research and educational activities, preferably
in a university environmentAbility to independently perform complex
financial analysis and customized reportingStrong oral and written
communication skills to effectively communicate, both in person and
in writing with ability to maintain a customer service focus across
broad and diverse subject areasOrganizational skills to
independently determine workload priorities and set timetables to
meet deadlines, goals, and objectives in a busy, high-volume, and
deadline-driven work environment that requires coordination of
multiple activitiesPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business,
accounting, finance, or a related a field, OR an equivalent
combination of education and experience. Experience working with
contracts and grants on the UC Davis campus or within a large
university system w/expert level knowledge of UC policies and
procedures Certified Research Administrator (CRA), or ability to
obtain certification within a 12-month time period from date of

the School of Veterinary Medicine. The Department's focus is on
teaching and research programs dedicated to improving a safe and
economical food supply from animal origins; the gathering and

human health and enhanced animal production; and the management of
