  • Associate/Full ClinX Professor BMT Director - Division of Hematology/Oncology Associate/Full ClinX Professor BMT Director - Division of Hematology/Oncology The Division of Hematology Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time academic position at the Associate or Full Professor level in the Clinical Internal Medicine (Clinical X - Clinician Investigator) series. This position will serve as Director of Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT). BMT Directorship responsibilities include active participation in the clinical care of patients and research related to stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy, hematologic malignancy, and/or immunology related to graft versus host or graft versus tumor effects, development of policies and protocols, regular attendance at scheduled meetings, and contribute to become a leader in the development, administration, accrual, and analysis of patients onto clinical trials aimed to improve the care of patients treated with cellular therapy. Direct inpatient and outpatient clinical care, teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows, and university/ public service is required. The chosen physician will join a strong clinical and translational academic program within the NCI-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, which includes phase I-III clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, as well as ongoing interactions with other cancer specialists. Candidates must possess an MD or MD/PhD degree and must be board certified by the ABIM in Internal Medicine and hematology and/or medical oncology and be eligible for licensure in the state of California. Experience in and the ability to teach medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as experience caring for hematology/medical oncology patients, is required. The ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research is required. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment is required. For the Clinical X series, the ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research and a record of publication in peer-reviewed journals is required. Evidence of successful administering of clinical trials is required, and success in securing extramural funding for research is highly desirable. The division has 38 faculty, 2 staff physicians, 10 fellows, 21 NP's, 53 staff, and operates a large and diverse clinical and research program. The division is a major component of the NCI-designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and has a strong presence in developmental therapeutics with an Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trials Network (ETCTN) grant and as a Lead Academic Participating Site (LAPS) with the NCI National Clinical Trials Network. The division research portfolio is particularly broad and spans laboratory-based early translation to population sciences and health disparities. The UC Davis School of Medicine is in the top quarter of US medical schools for NIH funding and one of the inaugural Clinical and Translational Award sites. The University of California, Davis is one of the top public research universities in the nation. The successful candidate will help to further improve and expand the current and hematological malignancies care and treatment therapies. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Basic qualifications(required at time of application) --- Must possess an MD or MD/PhD, or equivalent degree and be board certified by the ABIM in medical oncology and/or hematology.
    --- Must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of California.
    --- Responsible for Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) oversight and maintenance, contracting, quality and compliance, strategic development, marketing and outreach, and research.
    --- Works closely with UC Davis Cancer Center leadership of these core functional areas of the program.
    --- Experience in and the ability to teach trainees at multiple levels on hematology and/or oncology on inpatient service and in clinics.
    --- Ability and experience to conduct scholarly/clinical/translational research.
    --- Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment. Preferred qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
