PROJECT POLICY ANL 4 (Quarter at Aggie Square Program Director) Job ID 58148 Location Davis Full/Part Time Full Time Favorite Job Department Description Department Purpose Quarter at Aggie Square ( QAS ) is an immersive academic program in Undergraduate Education that enables undergraduate students to focus on a topic of societal relevance, working across multiple disciplines, on Davis' urban campus, Aggie Square, in Sacramento. Each quarter, Aggie Square hosts coordinated learning experiences, each of which involves small cohorts of students, from several majors, in a common enterprise to fully explore a specific problem or challenge via classes, research, field trips, speaker series, and experiential learning. -

Undergraduate Education provides campus-wide leadership for the delivery of undergraduate education and the enhancement of educational effectiveness and academic success. We act as liaison on academic issues pertinent to undergraduate education with each of the colleges and other campus entities, including the Academic Senate, as well as to external units and agencies including the UC Office of the President, other universities, and relevant accreditation agencies. The VP/Dean is a member of the Chancellor's Cabinet and a member of the Council of Deans and Vice Chancellors ( CODVC ). Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Experiential Learning and Site-Based Programs in Undergraduate Education the Director of Quarter at Aggie Square (QAS), serves as a member of the UE Experiential Learning Hub team to independently manage the day-to-day activities of -QAS. The Director supervises the activities of -QAS -staff and student staff and coordinates the participation of faculty involved in program workshops and events.

Provide project management and leadership during the proposal, planning, and implementation of faculty-submitted experiences. Oversee, lead, and implement programmatic efforts to advance the implementation of programs as a high-impact practice in multidisciplinary areas across UC Davis and cultivate campus-wide partnerships to support faculty and students in each experience.

The director manages the development of new experiences and other components of the project, liaising with the grant recipients, Aggie Square leaders, and campus stakeholders as well as making connections with members in the community about the project, and preparing reports about the project for Undergraduate Education Leadership and the Provost's Office. The director oversees program management, and analysis and provides information for faculty, the campus community, and the general public about the program. Develops objectives, goals, budgets, policies, and procedures, oversees the strategic marketing and communication plans for the program, student outreach, and new experiences. Responsible for advancing the program's overall mission. Serve on Aggie Square planning and implementation committees as needed. Position Information Apply by Date September 7 th 2023 Salary Range $80,300/annually - $147,500/annually - Subject to a budgeted maximum salary of $97,100, commensurate with experience and education.   • Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience providing oversight to staff in complex high-level campus-wide centers in an environment that includes program development, strategic planning, political communication, marketing, and implementation.
  • Experience analyzing, researching, and problem-solving ad hoc challenges and unexpected changes while ensuring the continuity and integration of a program.
  • Experience setting overall program management objectives; overseeing operational procedures; conducting ongoing systems analysis; and recommending, developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Strong relationship and collaboration, Public presentation, and strategic communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of community engagement and experiential learning initiatives in a higher education context. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience that demonstrates a commitment to UC Davis' Principles of Community. - Knowledge of labor market trends and sensitivity to and understanding of synergistic interactions between community-based learning, experiential education and career development. - Analytical and problem-solving skills to recommend and develop solutions to complex problems and issues. This position is a critical position and subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation including criminal history and identity checks.
