Under supervision from the Program Director provide extensive
research and review of legal policy and regulations to serve in
advisor role to the PI and outreach Specialist in support of the
project training and outreach activities. Provide guidance into
federal, state, and local COVID-19 laws and regulation, as well as,
agency specific workplace guidelines. Provides guidance into
workers' rights by tracking specific benefits and rights provided
to workers based on their employer, authorization status, and other
relevant criteria. Comparing data with laws by topic, regulatory
agency and farmers, farm labor contractors, farmworkers and
community organizations. Providing regular communications with
project PI and project team, representing PI at meetings necessary
and assist Program Director in overseeing project work,
deliverables and deadlines with project staff. Backup project staff
as needed as zoom curator and/or special projects. Prepare written
bilingual content for outreach efforts and website content. Present
labor laws and state regulations for agricultural employers and
community organizations at technical assistance meetings.
$22.80 - $46.65/HR.

Stand or sit for extended periods of time.
May be required to travel to meetings and events off-site where PPE
at all times and following all COVID-19 county requirements.
Work occasional evenings and weekends to meet operational
Work occasionally on site wearing proper PPE and follow all safety

washing hygiene per campus safety protocols.

-Bachelor's or advanced degree in related area and/or equivalent
experience and training, familiarity with regulations and labor
laws on industry workers. Class graduate of UCD School of
-Experience researching, analyzing and synthesizing data providing
guidance on federal, state and local laws.
-Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to research,
compile and interpret data, write content, present analyses both
using effective, efficient and tactful oral and written
-Demonstrated skills to develop written informational materials,
editing and proofreading skills to write clearly and logically to
prepare content in English and Spanish.
-Organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet
project deliverables and deadlines.
-Experience presenting legal concepts and labor laws to lay
audience and stakeholders, etc.
-Experience with computers including software programs and
applications using Microsoft Office Suite and other software as
-3 * 5 years' experience working with federal, state, and local
COVID-19 laws, guidelines, and regulations, for agricultural
workplace and workforce; safety regulations, paid leave policies,
unemployment benefits, and H-2A workers.
-Knowledge of agricultural labor industry laws.
-Interpersonal and communications skills displaying diplomacy and
professionalism with a wide variety of audiences to include state
agency, farmworkers, and the general public.
-Bi-lingual, Spanish verbal and written.
