float between pre-op and PACU as needed Description: We are seeking
a registered nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care
Unit (PACU). The nurse will primarily work in the PACU but may be
required to support the pre-operative area. The schedule is Monday
to Friday with variable start times. The earliest start time is
6:00 AM and the latest is 7:30 PM. No weekends or call are required
for this position. Candidates must be proficient in pain management
and procedural sedation administration and monitoring. Experience
with pediatric patients is highly preferred. Responsibilities
include conducting pre-operative assessments and education,
managing post-operative care, and performing discharge
instructions. The nurse will also need to be proficient in starting
and maintaining IVs and administering emergency medications.
Excellent communication skills are essential for patient
interactions and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. This
role involves caring for patients across the lifespan, including
adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census ranges from
30 to 40 patients, and the unit supports various specialties
including orthopedic, pediatric, ENT, neuro, and general surgery.
