Job Description:

At Walmart Inc., as a Senior Software Engineer focusing on Android development, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the shopping experience of millions globally. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies and innovative tools, you will develop advanced mobile applications directly impacting the way customers interact with our brand across Android platforms. This role calls for a passionate and experienced engineer ready to design, implement, and maintain world-class mobile applications for one of the largest retail chains. Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform ensuring robustness, usability, and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency and improve performance. Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability. Work on bug fixing and improving application performance. Maintain code quality, organization, and automatization. Lead and mentor junior engineers, encouraging best practices in software development. Proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android app development. Experience with Android SDK and working with remote data via REST and JSON. Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices. Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning. Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as touch. Familiarity with continuous integration. Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Android Certified Application Developer preferred Proficiency certificates for Kotlin or Java, such as Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 8 Programmer, could be advantageous
