Job Description:

Direct hire Quality Assurance Supervisor for a for a global leader in the Energy Industry located in Sacramento CA area.Ideal candidate will manage critical components and first article qualification of machined parts, hydraulic components, PCBA and flex circuit electronics, pumps, motors, buoyancy, PDU, and misc. components dailyAs a QA Supervisor you will:

  • Maintain a safe operating environment, assuring incoming quality products meet critical dimensions, managing the DMR (discrepant material reporting) process, achieving on time inventory flow to sustain a complex build schedule, while maintaining costs.
  • Manage compliance to the ISO requirements and manage the annual Tool and Gage Calibration requirements for the entire facility, including the managing discrepant findings and assessing risk to customer.
  • Responsible for directly supervising assigned staff, ensuring that they are performing their duties adhering to safety guidelines, quality standards, delivery times, and cost effectively. (SQDC)
  • Plan capacity and establish/maintain priorities and schedules for inventory flow to support OTD per the build schedule.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and problem-solving production and/or technical issues on the shift according to escalation guidelines.
  • Works cross functionally and executes strong collaboration to solve product development issues.
  • Direct experience in or proficient knowledge of lean manufacturing processes while driving a continuous improvement culture.
  • Ensure the appropriate resources are hired, motivated, and skills, knowledge, and abilities are developed to meet business requirements.
  • Conduct regular team meetings which include effective communication.
  • Understands and Complies with all ISO requirements and procedures. You will need the following to succeed:
    • Strong leadership, training, coaching, mentorship, and effective interpersonal skills gained through a minimum of five (5) years in a manufacturing environment.
    • Preferred 3 years of people leadership or supervisory role.
    • Working knowledge of reading engineering drawings and critical dimensions
    • Working knowledge of quality inspection principles and tools including non-contact instruments, CMM, Optical Comparator, and smart scopes.
    • Working knowledge of applying dimensioning methods as described in ASME Y 14.5.
    • Experience in process development and process improvement through being actively involved as a lead or coach, driving results via collaboration and team work.
    • Ensure that tools, techniques, and processes used by the team are continuously improved and enable verification of requirements on complex incoming parts.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as demonstrated through writing various status reports, performance evaluations, and production documentation.
    • Strong independent judgment, reasoning, negotiating, and problem-solving skills utilized in a technical, operational, and personnel aspect.
    • Proficient in workload planning and scheduling in a fast-past environment with competing priorities.
