A senior manual machinist ensures effective and safe operation of machine tools, such as lathes and milling machines, to cut and produce complex precision parts and tools.

Job Description
--- Ability to use appropriate tools safely for turning and milling operations of various jobs.
--- Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, band saws, chop saws,grinders, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.
--- Inspect and document features of the machined part (while in process and final inspection) with use ofinspection equipment. Perform in process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other common measuring instruments to verify part conformance.
--- Good knowledge of manual machining applications including OD/ID turning, grooving, single point threading,boring, tapping, and surface milling on vertical manual mills.
--- Ability to work in a production and prototype work environment.
--- Review and understand blueprints with working knowledge of GD&T,
--- Assess and apply appropriate machining solutions per instructions to both new and current manufacturing processes and rework of existing parts--- Maintain shop equipment (inspect, document, and fill oil and coolant levels daily, clean equipment).
--- Other applicable duties, as assigned or required.

You are meant for this job if:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of machine shop experience.
• Dedicated manual machining experience.
• Must have setup, prototype, and production experience in close tolerance machined components.
• Must have a good understanding of tool geometry/ application/ speeds and feeds.
• Ability to read blue-prints.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment effectively while meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability and desire to work in a results-driven, collaborative team environment
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to interface with other machinists, CNC programmers, Quality Control, planning, and managers.
• Self-motivated and takes initiative.
• Excellent work ethic and dependability.
• Ability to effectively use problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• CNC operation a plus.
  • Ability to work overtime as required. Physical Requirements
    • Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
    • Work on concrete floors, wearing steel toes boots up to 8-12 hours a day.
    • Regularly required to use hands and arms to perform repetitive motions; to sit, stand, talk, and/or hear.
    • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment to include but not limited to eye and hearing protection and steal toe boots.
    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
      
      Work Schedule & Salary Information:
      
      The Davis manufacturing team follows a 9/80 alternative work schedule. Every two-week period will consist of a 5-workday week and then a 4-workday week with Friday off. The first week would consist of four 9-hour days and one day of 8 hours. The following week would consist of four 9-hour days with Friday off. This schedule will be repeated. The workday will begin at 7:00AM and end at 4:30PM for a 9-hour day and begin at 7:00AM and end at 3:30PM for an 8-hour day.
      
      Salary Range:
      
      $25.00 - $35.87 - $46.63
      
      This pay scale is intended to comply with applicable state minimum wage laws. In the event that state minimum wage provides for compensation in excess of the lower end of the range reflected herein, that lower end should automatically be read to reflect the minimum wage required by state law. If and when the Company learns of such a discrepancy, it will
      
      promptly adjust the scale to comply with state law. Under no circumstances, however, should any scale provided by the Company herein be read or interpreted to suggest that the Company intends to pay below state mandated minimum wage for this position
