Plant Tissue Culture TechnicianWe are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Their products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, ensuring nutrition and improving quality of life. Our client is expanding and seeking a Plant Tissue Culture Technician in Davis, CA. Support plant biology production laboratory at a R&D site located at West Davis, CA by providing to day work involving the use of tissue culture techniques, operational SOPs, and execution of projects in a laboratory setting.Responsibilities:-- Prepare and dispense autoclaved/sterile tissue culture media-- Assist in routine transferring of sterile cultures to fresh media and maintain accurate record-- Sterilize and initiate explant material into tissue culture from greenhouse or field plants-- Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation, labware, and common laboratory Areas-- Maintain detailed records as required and requestedRequirements:--- Bachelor's degree in fields related to Biotech, Agriculture, Cell Biology, and Plant Sciences is preferred--- Candidates with high school diploma and 1-2 years lab experience or Upper division undergraduate students currently working on a Biotech, Agriculture, Cell Biology, or Plant Sciences degree will be consideredPreferred: --- 1 - 2 years practical work experience/academic training in a laboratory environment.--- Knowledge of sterile culture techniques and plant maintenance.--- Greenhouse and field experienceEducation: High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree in fields related to Biotech, Agriculture, Cell Biology, and Plant Sciences is preferredLocation: Davis, CA (95618)Pay Rate: $15.00/hourWork Schedule: Mon-Fri DaysLength of Assignment: Contract (3 months with potential extension to 6 months)About Us:S&S is a scientific staffing firm specializing in technical personnel placement within a chemical plant environment.
