Information Technology Health Informatics (ITHI) is responsible
for selecting, implementing, and operating clinical information
systems, specifically through the business intelligence tools such
as, SAP Business Objects Enterprise (BO) and Tableau. This position
plays many roles including Data Architect, Data Steward, and Data
Quality Analyst, and reports to the Data Operations supervisor.
This position is responsible for being a technical leader in
supporting clinical and operational data with emphasis on
healthcare information in Epic, electronic medical record system.
The Data Systems Analyst 4 provides technical data management
expertise to business and project teams to define business
requirements for various technologies, prepares and reviews data
architecture, provides technical expertise in the design, planning,
and execution of data management technologies especially in
business intelligence tools such as SAP Business Objects and
Tableau. This position may support projects associated with
numerous teams across the organization. The individual in this
position will be called upon to analyze report specifications and
design and implement efficient data models to support requirements.
The scope of data analysis encompasses structured healthcare data,
"extract, transform, and load" (ETL) processes and the reporting
data model. This position requires broad experience with designing
and implementing large relational database management systems
utilizing stored procedures, triggers, and data marts/summary
tables with an emphasis on the creation, optimization, and
execution of Health System-wide reporting. The incumbent will work
in a team-oriented environment interacting with report writers, IT
staff, clinical staff, and others. Additionally, the position will
require a high degree of independence to proactively identify needs
and/or issues, develop strategies and propose/implement data model
solutions. Incumbent may also be called upon to develop clinical
and operational reports of varying complexity. This position
requires significant experience in the design, architecting,
implementation and support of relational databases using SQL
(Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server or similar). Health care industry
experience with Epic clinical and reporting systems preferred.
Crystal Reports/Business Objects, Tableau, and Clarity support or
reporting experience is a plus. Experience with business
intelligence (BI) tools is preferred. Knowledge and support of
Software Development Life Cycle methodologies is necessary.
Incumbent is expected to be a technical leader with a high degree
of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in
Epic's Cogito Databases. Troubleshooting and problem-solving
requires the individual to perform a thorough analysis of different
data models and the probable behavior of data in Clarity. This
individual may be asked to manage projects with a high degree of
autonomy, that include formulating strategies, policies,
procedures, and best practices, to ensure database resources are
properly utilized in an efficient manner. Individual is expected to
adapt in a dynamic and collaborative work environment and make
independent decisions, prioritize work load to meet multiple
project deadlines, and maintain skills, certifications, and
training necessary to stay up to date with industry standards. Job

- Significant knowledge of Epic's databases and Epic Quarterly
upgrades to understand and perform necessary maintenance in SAP
Business Objects and Tableau to maintain system stability and
support enterprise projects.
- Significant experience and knowledge with upgrading business
intelligence applications and servers on a routine basis.
- Significant knowledge of large object- oriented relational
database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2. Sybase)
encompassing use of stored procedures, SOL, triggers, and data
marts/ summary tables.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL query optimization and fine tuning to
help improve query and database performance.
- Substantial experience architecting and implementing high
performance and robust relational database solutions in a UNIX
(preferably AIX) and/or Windows environment.
- Working knowledge of UNIX shell scripts. PREFERRED
- Working knowledge of UNIX shell scripts
- Strong working knowledge of Database Management tools, such as
- Solid understanding of and experience using Microsoft tools
(Access, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- Consistently support the use of process; develop and-implement
process improvements where needed.
- Ability to recognize the need for and maintain security of
confidential information; exercise judgment, tact, and discretion
handling sensitive or confidential information or situations.
- Experience with healthcare-related data preferred.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to produce high quality deliverables and perform at a

appropriate manager-approved Epic certification exams as per
current certification time requirements defined in the most current
