Job Description:

Under general direction of the Associate Athletics Director, ICA Facilities and Capital Projects, oversee event operations, facility maintenance and use of campus facilities used by Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA), including Schaal Aquatics Center, Aggie Stadium, Dobbins Baseball Complex, LaRue Field, Toomey Field, Marya Welch Tennis Center, Cowell Building, Field Hockey Turf and Hickey Gym. Work with a variety of campus units on facility projects, facility maintenance, and grounds. Departmental liaison for other campus facilities used by ICA teams and ensures that they meet proper NCAA guidelines for competition. Oversee athletics events for assigned sports. Work with outside user groups to bring events to ICA facilities- help run events, when necessary. Work closely with a variety of campus units to promote safety and security at all events. These events will have total attendance and participant figures of approximately 200,000 people. Works closely with the Compliance and Eligibility Office to ensure that all NCAA, Conference and institutional policies and procedures are followed and adhered to. Specialized position to oversee facility operations within Athletics. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education/Experience: - - - - - - - - - - -

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Athletics facility management, & scheduling, event management, and operations experience. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
    • Knowledge of intercollegiate sport structure, including NCAA, Big West Conference and institutional rules, as they apply to Intercollegiate Athletics.
    • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with a wide variety of people of diverse backgrounds and at various levels of the organization, and provide excellent customer service.
    • Personnel management skills to analyze and resolve complex personnel issues and oversee the related functions of recruitment/selection, employee relations, evaluations, terminations/layoffs, corrective actions, and affirmative action.
    • Oral and written communication, presentation, and public speaking skills; skill to represent the Department and sports in public forums.
    • Knowledge of budgetary, fiscal, fund accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices, to manage the budgets and prepare required reports and projections. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
      • An understanding of capital projects and how they relate to development and donor cultivation.
      • An understanding of project management including the various trades on campus and working with and directing vendors.
      • Knowledge of operations and event systems, including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical, repair & maintenance of heavy equipment.
      • Knowledge of fire and safety codes, regulations and emergency procedures related to public assembly facilities.
